Education Jen received her Nursing degree from Methodist Medical Center and her BSN from St. Francis in Joliet, IL. She received her MS in Family Nurse Practitioner at Regis University in Denver, CO.
When did you join Illinois CancerCare? Jen started as a nurse in 1994 and as a hospitalist Nurse Practitioner in 2005
Family Information She was raised in Washburn, IL and has lived in Washington, Bloomington, Metamora, East Peoria and Denver, CO.
Hobbies/Interests “I enjoy weightlifting, triathlons and fitness.”
Why did you choose oncology? “Oncology changes all the time, there are new treatments and therapies and a wide variety of medicines.”
What medical change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began practicing medicine? “The development of biotherapies and treatments are becoming more targeted.”
Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer? “Know as much as you can about your disease and treatments. Ask questions so you can understand what is going on.” |
