Education
Carrie received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She also received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Saint Francis College of Nursing in Peoria and a Masters of Science degree in a Family Nurse Practitioner sequence at Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University.

She is happily married with twin daughters.

Hobbies/Interests
“I enjoy spending time with my daughters, watching movies and playing around on the computer.”

What change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began your nursing career?
“There are a lot of new drugs--especially biologic agents.”

Why did you choose oncology/hematology?
“I completed an Oncology rotation as a nursing student and met the most wonderful patients.”

Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?
“Take each day one at a time and try to live your life as much as possible outside of having cancer.”
